LED Light Therapy in Carlton: What It Is and What to Expect

LED light therapy is one of the most talked-about skin and wellness treatments in Melbourne, and it’s now available at Carlton Massage TCM, inside The Spring Clinic on Drummond Street!

What is LED light therapy?

LED light therapy uses specific wavelengths of light, including red, blue, green and yellow, delivered through a light dome while you rest. The science behind it is called photobiomodulation: skin cells absorb the light, which is thought to influence cellular energy and signalling.

Red light (630nm) has been the most studied for skin, with research exploring its role in supporting collagen activity, skin tone and texture, and the appearance of redness. Research is still emerging, and individual experiences vary.

What happens in a session?

  1. Your skin is gently cleansed

  2. You’re fitted with protective goggles

  3. You rest under the LED dome for your session

  4. You head off with no downtime, ready to get on with your day

Why have it at a TCM clinic?

At Carlton Massage TCM, light therapy sits alongside a whole-person approach to care. Holly is an AHPRA-registered practitioner with a Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture), so your treatment is part of a wider picture that can include relaxation, stress and skin.

LED pairs especially well with:

  • Lymphatic drainage facials

  • Cosmetic acupuncture

  • Relaxation or remedial massage

Who might enjoy it?

  • Anyone wanting a calming, screen-free reset

  • Clients curious about skin-focused treatments without needles or downtime

  • Those wanting to add something extra to a massage or facial

Please let us know if you’re pregnant, photosensitive or taking photosensitising medication so we can advise whether it’s suitable. Results are not guaranteed.
